My name is Aaron Freeman and like many people in any developed nation I’m wasteful. On average, people generate about 4.3 pounds of waste each day. This adds up to 220 million tons of waste a year in the United States alone. That’s a lot of trash and a lot of waste contributing to a number of environmental issues.
My goal is to become less wasteful and to get others thinking the same. Recycling and composting are important, but both are rather boring topics to discuss. I’m interested in the strange out of the box ideas that most people wouldn’t even consider doing to reduce waste. Especially ideas that involve using waste to reduce more waste in the future.
What I hope to accomplish is to inspire and instill the idea that reducing waste does not need to be a daunting task. There’s no need to go crazy when it comes to going green because every little bit helps. Keep it simple, make it fun, think of new ways to limit your waste, and inspire others to think about their environmental footprints.
